Archivist or OCD? Yes!

Sometimes I wonder if I am either really good at my job or just OCD when:
  • I have to wash my hands before I go to the bathroom
  • an interesting shaped box is sometimes elicits more excitement than the contents therein
  • groceries are grouped by like items at check-out
  • I split my time between weirding out the bagger by commending them for a job well done and walking away swiftly to avoid snarky outbursts about their lack of skill
  • I'm the one to rearrange the way things are stored in work's food & accessories cupboard
  • My co-workers do not need me to be around to find communal XYZ thing that's kept in my office. It's all labeled.
This observance triggered by the 18th century documents I've been sorting through and causing my hands to go black.
In similar news, I'm going to the allergist tomorrow to find out what this new, interesting bad and irritating wheeze-centric allergy attacks are all about.

I thought washing your hands before using the restroom was more often a sign of a chemist.

Archivist Librarian I do everything on that list (and then some).

On the allergy: Could something you've gotten recently have mold spores in it, if not actual mold? That'd be my first suspect, given your line of work.

I was informed by the lil one that this year was another record breaker for allergy causing stuffs. Which stuffs I dunno but I have my allergist appt in a few weeks.

Is it still skin scratch type tests? Did they require you to not be on any allergy medication prior to? Just curious.

There should be OCD-Anon
