Yesterday & Today
With the help of
bookteacher, we have all the tools required for Sunday's shirt shindig. Not all shirts have been bought, but I realize that of those not bought, they're all for the out of towners, so more leeway than usual.
When I was in grad school at Simmons, bookteacher introduced me to the wonders of etheopian food at Addis Red Sea. The restaurant has changed a bit since we first started going- not a lot, but enough so that we can't order our preferred meal just as always. When we went last night, I was- for the first time- able to help her eat her preferred appetizer, which consists of spicy cottage cheese and ... stuff. Wow, it was good, but the lentil sambusas will always be my favorite. Naturally, we ate way too much and spent the rest of the evening wandering to Newbury Street, then walking its length twice before striking off across the Garden/Common to retrieve our stuff at my office. That brief but enthusiastic bit of rain found us when we were smack dab in the middle of the Garden, so we presented a pretty sight to the night super when we squelched up. All in all, a very pleasurable evening and will have to be done again in some form soon.
Happily the ride home was free from excitement.
quiet_elegance went out for the new LBD-organized night at Axis, so he was gone by the time I got back and I didn't remotely hear him when he came home. He reported this morning that it was a very good time and he tortured a few pretty girls (woohoo!).
I chose to be a bit of a masochist this morning by adding a few more reps to the exermasize routine. I'd been working some, but starting to plateau. I'll feel this tomorrow for sure. However, this meant that I took longer and didn't get out of the house til a bit too late, then the Red Line was dead slow. I got into the library to be told that the T1 line was doing a great impression of crappy dial-up. I have yet to be able to get into gmail. If anyone has anything dire to say to me between now and the end of work, you'd best call me.
