When last we left our herione (in the false book on the 3rd shelf...oh wait, not that) - 3 of the 4 new Ikea shelves were put together. Last night I tackled the final one by myself, which was a little harder than expected,  particularly the sliding the backing in- it just didn't want to go, but I persuaded it. With a hammer. And the hammer in this case is a hammer, not a metaphor.

Once the last TV is sent down to the curb (to be picked up with its brother from another mother) for tomorrow's trash pick up- and the shelving that's being replaced -not worth free-cycling that., btw, it's that gross: left over from grad-school hand-me-downs. In short: fugly.--- anyway, once all that is out of the way, it'll look less like a wreck up in what we could just about call a library.  Knowing that the TVs really will be gone by tomorrow evening makes me SO happy. It'll be proof of improvement. Additionally, I've been chipping away at an inordinate amount of cardboard that had been left on the front porch over the last few months. None of us at DMH like dealing with it, so I make it go because ... ech. Makes the place look a bit ratty.

Naturally, I came up with yet another furniture arrangement last night after I was too tired to implement. However, I think it's the best notion so far.  Most of the time, there won't be a bed in this room. I acquired an aerobed for guests. I've also decided to leave the futon frame [profile] quiet_elegance  made in couch form and find enouch cushioning to make it habitable, so it could easily be a secondary movie watching venue (yay laptops) or craft space, etc. Like I said: habitable. The thing of it all, is that in order to share my plan properly, I'd need diagrams, which I don't have in this medium. But I suspect really few people beyond me care enough, so we can assume smiling and nodding is happening, and I'm cool with that.

Has anyone else been contemplating a yard sale? I have about 1/4 of a yard sale accumulated at this point and I'd love to get rid of the clutter. Considering, I'll probably go to good will with my stash.

Also: ow. 2 days of heaving furniture around has me worshiping at the alter of Advil.
