Dear gods in heaven, what a rollercoaster ride
Yesterday and the day before I was in a major funk. Today it's like I'm a different person altogether.
First boost was getting a call at work from a woman requesting 100 copies of my records management brochure I did at the end of last year. ?! Holy cow!
Then I get a ping from
isabelluna giving me a line in on 2 folks from the brighter parts of high school.

One of the directors who helped edit also had her husband help. He knows the legal details and whatnot. This is the guy who wants the copies so he can distribute them as he does his work with the denomination at a national level. This is it. We hit the tipping point and MY work will be circulated around to places that have never heard of my library. It'll mean big stuff in the coming year as it trickles around. I can feel confident that I can stand by my work because it was edited by the authorities of our Board and yet I'm still a little freaked out. I took the time to add my name to it because if I don't get the big bucks I need to at least indicate what I'm doing and making in the professional world. But I feel like I'm waiting for the lighting bolt to hit for allowing my ego to have a by line. Not like it's wrong! I'm not even saying "written by" so much as "edited and designed" which is much more accurate.

People I think about from time to time and miss, as they really were the nice ones. The scary/weird thing is that one of them may well work on my block. Here in Boston. I'm abuzz with adrenaline hoping like mad he writes back. Given his building is within yards of where I'm sitting, it took a huge amount of effort not to walk over to see if it was really him. Don't be that girl, missy. Allow him the right to privacy. But dude! I so looked up to this guy. He was my director for one-acts when I was a junior. He and the other friend found were the basis of the names I gave my cats that year:(Merlin and Cosmo. Merlin being a free association variation of one, Cosmo referring to the duo being dubbed the Cosmic Twins- they were pretty inseperable, you see).
So I'm going to sit here and vibrate. And hope like mad that I don't come crashing down off this high too hard.
