Success!

I did well enough that I've emailed Tyler at Pandemonium to see if he still has room for his 12/18 event.
Most favorite thing bought: pirate medallions. Second-most popular: Hellboy ornaments- I sold all 4. Also at least 2 Cthulhu. Several of my standard-sized Altoids tins went away and the sale box had several hits.
Thing that did really badly: jewelry. No real interest, not even in the celtic knots. *boggle*. But that wasn't exactly unique there. The odd-ball stuff was what was getting attention. My boss encouraged me to bring jewelry to work again tomorrow (board meeting and library reception for the building and our alum volunteers/interns) No prob.

I feel mighty.
Also I got through it without massive mood crash and only told off one mean potential customer who Didn't Approve of flasks. (She didn't have to buy one- nyah) >.<

Yay! I am glad you did well. Standing out in the crowd helps, so I am not surprised your unique pieces got the most attention. I'm so happy that taking this chance worked out well for you.

I had a good weekend selling as well, so hurray for us!!

Eh, it only ended up being a handful of friends who showed up, but it was great to see them, I cleaned up vast portions of my house (which was the largest point to the exercise), and folks did buy a few things. It's not entirely clear to me if there's enough interest to try such a thing again in the spring, but I'll ask around then. And maybe more people will be available when it's not CrazyHolidayTime.

the damned word gets so overused these days it's a pleasure to apply it correctly.

I would say that this tends to argue for focusing on things that make you stand out in a crowd, and maybe trimming your stock for a given show with an eye toward the probable crowd. My father always says he has no idea what to bring the first time he goes to a show - he figures it's a scouting trip and the second time he brings only a subset of stuff that he expects will sell.
