Back to the drawing board

The Belmont landlady didn't even look at our applications- just went with the first group without a second thought. If it's going to go down thusly, I'd rather that than "didn't like the cut of their jib." This was impersonal. Irritating- it was a great house. But we must carry on. So.... yeah. That. I hope said landlady gets exactly what she deserves (we heard via current tenant that the MiL who was moving into said house hated the house and all its stairs- chances are they'll not stick around for more than a year or so if that's the way of it.)

On the other hand, if the landlady is so short-sighted perhaps the tenants she got are the unlucky ones. And it beats being turned down for something you can't fix.
