Gratuitous Icon Post and useful busy work for the day

On the subject of images, my day 2 back at work has been occupied primarily with my backlog of sorting and renaming my digital pics dating back to 2006 when I got my first digital camera and immediately stopped using regular film. I have always intended to make hard copy, but I also am not interested in copying every last little one, as such. Now I can use Snapfish to create the whole finished album with all the captions n' all. I'm setting up a folder in each year's folder that has best of best. My naming structure automatically puts them in chronological order, taking away half the work later. (90% of the information in here is crazy obvious for anyone who has spent more than 5 minutes around me, I realize- the archivist is acting archivey at her historical narrative!)

Similarly to the cobbler's shoeless children, I find doing this work to be a low priority when I'm at home. Once I'm into it, I'm hyper-focused until there's nothing left to sort. That usually means being forced to be in one room for an extended period of time. Therefore this sort of thing happens when I'm traveling, when I was stuck in the hospital I did a lot- and occasionally at work. Since I'm stuck without a regular project until we have everyone back in the office (tomorrow), today was tailor-made for this activity.

Like!

Well, that sounds very productive indeed.

I do this, too. But I'm sure that if you ever thought about it, you knew that. :)

I'd be curious to talk with you about Snapfish at some point. I'd heard some not-so-good things about their usability a while ago and haven't looked to see what they're like lately.
