He's OK

Just got a call from [profile] quiet_elegance. The first words out of his mouth were "I'm OK."
It turns out that while he was out to get some tools and feed meters at the hospital job site, some guy coming out of a parking spot hit  him going about 10 miles per hour. The bastard didn't even stop. The guys at the site helped him get his head back together, assess damage, call the police, and so on. He's bruised but fine and gets a freebie day off tomorrow. We should take pictures of our bruises (me from falling on monday)... or something. I did tell him that he really didn't have to play a game of one upsmanship with me.

Yipe! Glad he's OK.

ACK!!!

Glad he's alright. Take care of yourselves!

Wow. That's really awful, but I'm glad he's ok. I hope he's taking a trip to the hospital? And chance of identifying the driver?

Bastard!

I hope he's really ok...

It's a good idea to take pictures of bruises like that anyway, just in case you find yourself wondering, "Was it that big when I got it?", or "Did it somehow shift down my chest?".

Some people draw the outlines of bruises with Sharpies, but I think pictures are better.

I'm gonna have to second the pictures idea. I have a friend who takes care of older patients and they do that all the time.

Relative health ascertained, snark may now ensue

Given that q_e is largely unscathed, I'm actually kinda glad he didn't ID the driver. For the driver's sake. What the police would do is nothing compared to what the guys on the crew could come up with.

"Son, you ever see what a hydraulic rotary hammer drill (http://www.csunitec.com/rotary/hydrotary.html#2inchhammer) will do to a vehicle? Lemme show ya."

Oh, I’m so glad he&rsquo's OK! Please give him my sympathies and hug him — gently.

I'm right there with you on the "scary what-if games". I do that all the time.

Glad he's OK and we'll try to get the tub functional for tonight. To be honest I think the porch is going to be beyond hope (ice on ice on ice) so please bring good footgear.

I'm glad he's (relatively) okay.
