Thoughts on crushes

With a housemate crushing pretty hard, I have been considering the nature of crushes recently and apparently I'd forgotten about the crushes I've had recently...

Until I was trucking down the stairs to refill my water bottles at work (My office is on the 7th and the rest of work on the 2nd) and on floor 5, who do I see but totally butch and very aloof Biker Babe. I see her occasionally and can only imagine my admiration is very very obvious, as I do not come from the Land of Subtle. Yet she never ever has shown anything more than polite disinterest towards me, which so far has been a foreign concept for me.
I think I gave up on the chance of getting to know her on any level sometime a year into the crush, yet whenever I see her I still feel that lurch of "ohhhhh- butch biker babe"

*shrug* I am simply amused by my selective memory and the nature of "Not going to happen in this lifetime" crushes.

Ahhh, crushes. I think my take on the subject is fairly well part of public record. I love having them, I hate having them, but I love having them. Wasn't it DeBarge who sang "I've Got a Crush on You"?
