quiet_elegance and I are headed to his family's tomorrow. Our final resting spot at the end of the day (stopping through DC and Detroit first) is Kokomo, Indiana. Which inevitably reminds me of Bonnie Raitt's rendition of the
song by that name, which happens to be on a compilation tape my father made me while I was at Interlochen when I was 14. And it's playing right now. This effort was clearly meant to be a slice of home while I was gone for the summer. It starts off with a classical motif (Queen of the Night's aria from Magic Flute, then eventually Beethoven) which is a perfect entre for the Beatles, "Roll Over Beethoven" and we're currently in the Rolling Stones segment. It gets wierder after that.
So, to sum up: visit to Kokomo- jury's still out, but we are wary.
