It's now 19 days til my natal day, and some people sometimes buy me presents. I was trying to see if I already had a wishlist together, but I think the last time I did this was 2 years ago- dude.
This is not an obligatory thing, rather a reference, says the very self-depricating, --I swear I'm not a spoiled only child brat and really don't tease me, OK? Really. I'm neurotic. -- girl.

Getting the CD/DVD burner thing should be pretty trivial. I can help you pick one, or just get it independently if you don't care about the details. Something like this?

burning DVDs is also a feature I want. From what I can see, when you add the DVD burn capability, it's not- as you say- trivial.
However, I'm not particularly gifted in finding quality hardware. I get teflon brain within 5-10 minutes. I rely on K. to help me identify the not-crap stuff that will do what I want. Wee!
