Survival of a weekend
Most of it was taken up with prepping and working the Flea, but I managed to have a cheerful and bouncy mental breakdown for most of it, so I call that a win.
What amazed me is that I survived the whole Flea experience enough to enjoy dinner at Addis with
lifecollage and
mangosteen, then did the marathon of bachelorette party for
buxom_bey, which was entirely awesome start to last.
You may recall that I was chastising SMeG for not taking the Star role in Stardust. I take it back. Claire Danes ruled. Stardust ruled. It had some pretty major variations from the book, but I didn't have a problem with any of it, really. Princess Bride-worthy, entirely. I was also interested in every single preview (and there were many) that was shown.
I have noticed that summer is getting that tubucular cicada cough that signals the end is near. I'll miss the long days, but it's so nice to want to have blankets on to sleep, and the apples are starting to be in season. Cooking doesn't seem like such a heinous thing - as opposed to "use the stove?! Are you kidding??". Yep. I'll like it fine til the cold hurts when I go outside and the sun insists on being mostly absent.
