Things are mostly good, but here's the not great:
Hormones, temporary set-backs in home financial reform (eta: turns out to be not of my/our doing, but being charged 2x for a new computer which was purchased, but really not worth paying twice- also can't resolve this for another 35 min til they open. grump grump grump), stupid unplowed sidewalks, my inability to make myeslf get up in the morning- these things have caused me to be a little less cheerful than I prefer.
The better to quite good stuff
My new intern starts today. I only have another 4 days of online class. I believe I'll be teaching a half day workshop on Saturday. I finished the prep for attending my professional conference next month- one I helped plan. I'm making connections with other archivists in the area and I'm looking forward to building that community I mentioned last week. That inital planning session was pushed off til this week thanks to the half snow day Friday.
I've been reading Northanger Abbey for the Jane Austen Book Club I'd joined earlier this year. NA is excessively funny. I do find that reading Austen has a rather immediate effect on my choice of vocabulary. Like "excessively" just then. We'll be getting together tomorrow for a Colin Firth viewing. I am under the impression that we'll be watching highlights of the BBC P&P miniseries, which is the reason I discovered I liked Austen in the first place.
