Snow Day?!
My boss called me about an hour ago to say "Snow Day!" This is an historic event, FYI. She always wants to make sure we're staffed, but hey! ... Oh. Wait. I have two interns coming in tomorrow. I don't have their contact info. I can't get at the page that lists their info because I haven't memorized it and it's buried in the grad school site. Crap! After much flailing trying to find the page, trying to find someone at the school who might be able to point me, pow-wowing with our librarian whose number I at least do have, I remembered the admin password for the library web site. I add notes for the snow days, so hopefully they'll check before leaving, right?
Then, stroke of utter genius. Our library has a Facebook page. Did they add themselves as fans? One yes. I friend her and leave her a message. The other has such an unusual name that I found her by a first name search- she was only on the second page. Lather-rinse-repeat. I will be making note of all my minions' emails and having it at home from here on out.
Now I can enjoy my snow day without worrying overly much of poor students flailing in the snow to come to a locked library and cursing my name.
