So, Friday we went to see A Night Without Python, featuring Alan Tudyk in the cast of 5. Any Python fan would recognise everything in the show, but it was done in such a lovely way, and often re-figured to mesh one bit into another. It was really disappointing to see the house so empty, but it was a holiday weekend. The upside was that we went from nose bleed seats, second row from the back, to right up at the rail at the front of the balcony. If we had an intermission, we could have easily slid down into the orchestra. Ah well. It did mean everyone could stretch their legs. We book-ended our show with a visit to Connelly's which was about 3 streets over but still in the heart of Times Square. I discovered exactly how much I like Magner's.

Saturday we wandered around between 34th and 14th streets, ending at Forbidden Planet. Sadly, I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer density of everything experienced including the comic book store that I was disinclined to stay in there, much less buy anything. Besides, that's not a good place to be in sans list.
The real star of the day and the weekend was Morimoto. [profile] purple_terror and I went for my birthday this year and our only regret was not having anyone else there to eat with us. We fixed that. I think the group favorite was the appetizer of shrimp tempura- it was like no tempura I'd ever eaten or may ever eat again. The Oma Kase menu (part II for those who've had it once already) was quite lovely- similar to part I, but not 1:1. We also had the monster bottle of sake. I won't try to describe the rest of the food, as I don't think I could do it justice- highlights in visual form-
