England, day 1-2

Hokay. I could have done some of this yesterday but didn't.

British Air experience quite good. We are traveling essentially on K's excessive air miles, so we did the business class upgrade n' all. It meant I didn't have to worry about getting fed. I never sleep well on a plane, but the fancy of those that recline to mostly flat help some. 

One of the determined activities of the trip: Borough Market. It made the most sense to drop our luggage at King's Cross (after an hour on the train) and check that out. It's really amazing, as one would hope. I'll be uploading pictures of the cheeeese shop (where they were discussing Wensleydale, but had no bazooki) and the huge 3 foot diameter cooking vessels- the mostly flat type- filled with curries and such. K acquired random tasties and we had fish n' chips before heading towards our hosts in Cambridge.

Tom and Carol live about a half mile from the train, and the walk showed no really, this is spring. There's green grass and buds on trees and flowers. Envy. The remainder of the day was relaxed, chatting, tea, nap, dinner, watched The King's Speech, and went right to bed.

It's vacation, right? So sleeping past 10 not that bad a notion. Today the only plan is to explore Cambridge a bit. Tomorrow: PicoCon.

Ah! And belated birthday to WeeGee! Hope it was a lovely day-hugs.

King's College Chapel

OK-
This afternoon Tom, purple_terror and I- after a few hours of meandering through Cambridge- went to King's College Chapel for evensong. This experience absolutely made the trip. I'm sure I will have other moments of fun and pleasant diversion, but this was, for once: awesome. Stunning. Amazing. Reminds you that sometimes the human condition creates pure beauty.

This video will be a good example of what that was like. And the ceiling--- I have no words.
