Follow up on the "Silver Lining" post
I mentioned earlier in the month about a friend whose liver was not doing him any favors. Well, sadly, last week Aaron died. It was just too much infection for his body to take. I've been meaning to write something but even now still don't feel particularly eloquent. I know Aaron was a great guy, but never was a close friend. Just part of the tribe that took me in for a hand-full of years. He even went to OU, but despite that, I have no particular memory of spending time with him. I guess our UU circles and other friend circles were such there just wasn't much overlap.
This whole sad affair really has catalyzed the YRUU alum from that era to get connected and plan a reunion for next year. The FB page is insanely active with all sorts of conversations, which has done a good job from keeping me from drifting back to my regularly scheduled life. I suspect that activity has really added to my lack of focus and absent-mindedness.
I have a lot more thoughts running around up here, but out of respect for Aaron I'm leaving this a single topic for him.
