Some Political Things
In an effort to make sure that the telcoms are not given a free pass, I called my reps today. For a wider description of what that's about, I point you to
cos's journal and this Phoenix article. If you are so inclined and haven't done so already, please spend the few minutes to call. The folks who answer the phone are quite friendly. If you're hung up on wording as I frequently am, I said something along these lines:
I'm calling in regard to a vote that's up for today. [pause- Sometimes they transfer you to another section of the office.] Please ask the Senator to "oppose amnesty for the phone companies" and to "vote for all of Russ Feingold's amendments."
If you're also in my neck of the woods, it might help to have Kerry and Kennedy's local numbers, vs. the DC ones:
Kennedy: 617 565-3170
Kerry: 617-565-8519
Otherwise here's a page that tells you contact info
And voting tomorrow. I'm hopeful. I'd been on the fence for a while and now I'm not.
