Birthday Party 4/24/08
I called Roller-World last night and my birthday is currently unbooked, so I'm taking it!
Ok. Let's see if I can be coherent long enough to get this all down-
Where- Roller World: 425r Broadway Saugus MA 01906
When- April 24 7-9pm
Why - I'm turning 33 and skating RAWKS
Who- You, your SO(s), kids, random friend who likes to skate. Sure. bring 'em! The place is as big as a airplane hangar, so the more the merrier. Please RSVP so I can get a head-count.
People wrangling:- Anyone feeling like a drama llama at other people can be YouTubed for posterity or better yet: leave the llama at home.
Parents are responsible for their kids' noggins and limbs, per usual.
Skating is not required to attend! Do not think you'll be alone in the non-skating. Come for the aweseome music, awful pizza, and socializing. Guaranteed Shadenfreude for when others fall on their ass.
Logistics-

Logistics-
- They have a snack bar, ski ball, air hockey, and a separate bit of space for wee tiny skaters so they don't get knocked down by the talls.
- Skate rental is part of the private party cost, but using rollerblades are $3 extra. It's a flat fee to use the space for up to 100 people, then 3.50 ea. thereafter
- Reccomended: wear layers that include a short sleeve shirt or tank top if you're skating. I forgot how HOT one gets going round and round.
- If you have your own skates, bring them. They will check to see if you have breaks on your 'blades, though.
- Donations to defray the cost of renting the space are welcome.
- Roller-World is off Rt 1, about 2 miles south of 128/95. There's lots and lots of junk food emporiums to catch dinner beforehand. Like Mike's Roast Beef, probably another 1-2 miles further south of the Rink. And their tasty-tasty chocolate frappes.
- Non-car enabled people definitely let me know. We will find car-pooling options for you if you're feeling you need the help.
- People who are willing to car-pool/drive should also speak up :)
- EDIT: I've been told it's school vacation week
- EDIT: Yes, there is space for smalls not to get in the way of or run over by talls. Delegation of the wrangling of your smalls: still alllll you. Ach. Now German must I speak. Entschuldegen Sie bitte. Wo ist de Haltestelle?

And there should be a "kids area" out of the general road kill zone that you can pen them up in with those closer to their size.
