So, here's the situation. [info]quiet_elegance  has been going to the same PCP for about 8 years now.
Preferred features in said doctor:
near Lexington
willing to consider sending him to PT/pain specialist for his chronic knee pain*
not overburdened with Puritanical views on life.

Anyway- thanks in advance. There's not much I can do other than inquire amongst you, our community.

* The current  doctor has been disinclined to come up with a solution to the chronic back and knee pain. He will need knee surgery/replacement eventually, but in the meantime, he needs someone who is willing to say something other than "eat better, exercise, take ibuprofen." He's on his feet all day in high risk, hugely active manual labor as much as 12 hours a day. He's in too much pain to have a decent exercise option, and it's not like he's a desk jockey: he's moving around all day.

She's near the Pru in Downtown, but I can't say enough good things about Dr. Judith Lytle at Medical Care Affiliates, 617-262-1500. I've sent a pile of our peers to her, and they all love her too.

Not so much on the PCP front, but may I recommend Barry Meklir (http://www.muscularsolutions.com) for the knee thing? He is the most holistic and effective bodyworker I have ever known, he is a wonderful smartass, and he will not bullshit you, but may tell you some new and useful things.

(Caveat: he does not take insurance.)

Asked Dr. Margo via e-mail and hope to hear from her if she has anyone she'd recommend.

I am rather fond of my PCP

But I'm not sure he's taking new patients or is the kind of person Matt wants to see. He's in Lahey Burlington, which is pretty close at least.

Tim and I love our PCP, who's at Acton Medical (intersection of Routes 27 and 2). Let me know if you want more info.
