Another post of many things..... The order of this is not by importance-

1. I need new khaki pants. I foolishly weeded the one pair I had (starting to wear in parts) before acquiring the replacement(s). And there's this sweater that will only look good with brown or tan pants, but not just any brown. None of my brown skirts/pants work with this sweater. Stupid dye lots. (Incidentally- the sweater is the one in this icon)

2. I'm not always one to go in for Mercury retrograde, but it would be a convenient explanation for the snaggle of bad communication that seems rampant around work today. I've heard through others that the boss is tense about non-work things and it's starting to show when I nag remind her on a thing only she can do, well-- she takes umbrage. Fiiiine. Water/duck/back. I have to remind myself I'm a bit on edge myself with [profile] quiet_elegance still dealing with the aftermath of Friday's knee surgery. Which brings us to

3. he's in more pain than we had expected, the lower thigh is ridiculously swollen, and he's noticed edema building up. Yes, he's calling his doctor again if the office doesn't call before closing. It would be typical of him to do things the hard way. sigh. My worry for him and the hyper vigilance that goes therewith is exhausting.

4. More cheery- World Dance studios, run by my former salsa instructor from CCAE, is starting up a Bollywood class on Mondays starting next week from 8:30-9:30. It's a bit later than I'd like for a start, but an easy place to get to. I can go home for a bit and eat leisurely before I go back in. q_e has union history night on Mondays for the next month or three, so it's conveniently timed. He's certainly not taking any dance classes for many months to come, after all. It would appear that the studio is relaxed enough that if you have to skip a week, you're not eating the cost, rather you only pay for what you use. So, it's not a question of if I'll take it but for how long I ought to register. It's $18 for a single/drop in, $60 for 4 weeks and $110 for 8. When I go in this coming Monday I'll get more details on my options and get confirmation on what I think I know. Chances are I'll go for the 8 week. :) It's also possible that I might find a different class and switch allegiances if they allow it.

5. We just had a really cool demonstration of a microfilm scanner at work. It was totally cool and helped reduce any residual crankiness for me and hopefully for my boss, who is an historian and has been fighting with traditional microfilm readers for decades. She was in awe. So was I.

So, stuff. It's happening. And now I'm really tired.

She's been looking for a pay-as-you-go dance place for a bit now.

I'm taking a dance class too! The community center up the street from me is offering an adult dance class on Thursday nights. The type of dance will cycle every 5-6 weeks: it starts this week with modern, then flamenco, then ballet, african, indian, and belly dance. I can try the first class for free this week so I'm doing that to see if I like it. It's $90 for a six-week session. I really hope I like it!

We have a really nice microfilm reader at work (at the mother ship)--it takes film and does digital things to it. Very sweet.
