things with stuff in it
Let's see...
K's safely back from his trip and he brought cool stuff back, but most cool, he's back.
Ani Difranco is still my folkie goddess. Her concert at the Orpheum last night was brilliant. M joined me; did he enjoy himself? Well, he's now jonesing for some of Ani's early work, so I guess he did.
I did a task I've been avoiding for 3 years this morning: confirming the location of individual items in one of our "prestigious" collections. I think I figured out why they were moved. The heavy boxes were kept on the top shelf. No good. Especially when the retriever of the boxes is short with not so much with the upper-body strength as such.
The bound volumes were really skanky with old leather rot. Glad my clothes aren't precious today (no silk or fancy sweaters that are hard to wash)
However, that wiped any residual energy I had.
I'm now working on updating the auto/bio discard list to indicate what was taken by our NH dealer last week. And I'm doing so rather efficiently by manipulating Access's query forms. I'm a clever, clever bunny. As always, sometimes you don't know how much you know til you realize you couldn't have figured that out X years ago... 2-3 in this case.
M. is also a clever, clever bunny. He was checking out the scanner/printer/photo copier that I set up in my marathon cleaning recently. I'd not tested the scanner, just that the machines were talking to each other. The ink cartridges are long dried out, you see... Anyway, scanner works. The color quality isn't the best, but good enough that I now have one hell of a project. I'm going to scan in all the paintings I've done over the past 2 months on greeting cards, then if I'm very very motivated, put them online so ya'll can take a gander.
This means I can give away some of the more precious designs that I was loathed to do for fear I forgot them.
Color manipulation has been fun, too.
Yay projects!
