That went well

quiet_elegance, some 3-4 years ago, was minding his own business, on the job site, when he was tagged by a jerk-head (not ahf) in a Miata. Hit-and-run. And since then there's been on-going and serious pain issues, particularly in his back. After all this time and tons of doctor's visits and PT, we finally have a doctor who's willing to take this seriously. There was a referral to a back specialist and today was the big test where there was Novocaine administered and they tested to see if it really was a pinched nerve, or what. The meds knocked out the pain, the x-ray showed the goods. It's a pinched nerve. This means that the doctor can do something about it- the likely treatment is to burn out the nerve in question. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, but after so many years of him being not remotely interested in the cool fun stuff, like dance classes and paint ball- there may be an end to the treading water/making-due surrounding all that daily pain.
So, fingers crossed. The next appointment probably won't be for a few weeks.
