But, but... they're so CUTE when they're asleep. I used to say that was the saving grace of our children who were sometimes horrid when awake but so beatific when asleep.

True, but to get to sleep, one has to stop staring at them. And one ought not wake the baby, so staring at them = potentially counter-productive.

Honestly, you'd be amazed at how smart that is of you. I know parents who default to giving their kids juice or whole milk because they're convinced the kids wouldn't drink water. One of my friends, in fact, goes so far as to give her kid FLAVORED MILK by default.

Because we need to visit the dentist more....
