Spring Dammmit, and Family Update

mizarchivistSo, after deciding watching television all day on the couch was not a very valid choice and was contributing to my irritability, I took everything out of my closet for a good, old fashioned spring cleaning.
Despite my good intentions, I inevitably mess up the order of my closet, forget things are there- So, given I'm meeting the new Fearless Leader tomorrow, today seemed the ideal moment to iron the potential bits of wardrobe that will make a good impression and weed out the stuff that is not going to get worn again this season and/or just sucks.
I managed to get about a bag's worth of stuff removed, found about a dozen items in need of ironing, and retired a fair number of t-shirts that I love but can't throw away. I bought one of those bulky, stacked canvass storage things for a closet- one could put all sorts of stuff in there. I chose sweaters and and some shoes. My primary closet is very long and narrow. The doors do not go its width (probably for the best, given the closet is not even a little insulated and one can feel a breeze in winter eminating from its depths. Scary). Therefore, there's about 3 feet (most of my side of the closet) that is damned hard to use. Why not stick that storage whosit there? Anyway, go me.
When I talked to dad he told me that Grammy's staying with them (dad's mum) for at least 2 weeks. Grammy's really not doing well and shouldn't be left alone for long anymore. I'll be curious to see how long it takes Dad to convince his youngest sister (the one who takes care of Grammy most) that the best choice now is assisted living. *sigh* It's very stressful for the folks and I hope they get through it without killing anything.
