Some updating

I appear to have figured out a basic cable. I can now see for myself that this is pretty easy, just sort of awkward til you teach your hands how to deal with the extra needle. I am pleased.

I appear to have allowed committed the sin of volunteering and will be in committee this year helping sweetmmeblue with guest of honor liaison (GOHL) for Arisia next January. At least I'll be in good company. And you know, hang out with John Scalzi a bit. This is actually a good thing. I think.

I discovered with buxom_bey that SkyZone is a fantastic place to take toddlers. They are literally allowed to bounce off the walls there. Next time we get tickets well in advance. We were only able to let the kids play for half an hour, as they booked up.  Turns out our kids really like hanging out together, so we'll be headed to the MOS in a few weeks. Again.

Hooray for letting toddlers bounce off someone else's walls, particularly the non-breakable kind. Pygment put up with a tremendous amount of commercial noise so that ours could do this at similar ages.

How are you at adapting knitting patterns? At this weekend's party I saw someone wearing a really cool knit wrap/upper torso thing but it was definitely shaped for female bodies. I was idly speculating about whether it could be adapted to a male-shaped body to give more of a vest effect.

Speaking of knitting, Pygment adores her hand-warmers She even wore them while sick-napping this weekend to help keep her hands warm.

Without seeing the item in question I couldn't possibly be more definitive than "uh, maybe?" But it's a moot point as my knitting dance card is extremely limited.

Cool! And BTW, Mare and I have a MoS membership (that lets us bring guests) and are generally delighted to have an excuse to go.
