Went back. MRI is normal. Still no reason detected or any change good or ill with kid's eye, so the ophthalmologist's next step: surgery. This issue is less than 6 months old, ish, but not by much, and the sooner one can correct, the better. It's a fast day surgery.  Details below the cut, but not gory, but still involve thinking about surgery...
Will involve manipulating the ocular area to get at the muscles that are not doing their job to hold his eye in the right location. They'll fix that and boom, done. Aside from taking it easy, the fix happens when he wakes up, not after weeks/months. Only internal nips/sutures, none outside. He'll have a red eye for a while and not be allowed to go swimming for 1-2 weeks. The surgery will take less time than the MRI did. Hokay. We can do this. It's scheduled to be between the move and the kid going to see grandma for a week. It's pretty much perfect. So, all will be well come the end of July.
