Ohio Visit: Day Six
By this time tomorrow, I'll be at home. I've had a grrrreat visit, but I'm ready to be home.
Today the Serenity tees were done. Overall, I'd say good. Total shirts: 10. Number that got pretty fucked up (maybe not even permanent): 1. Very awesome ones: at least 4-5. I skipped the english script and stuck to a medallion (or planet) of yellow-red and black conji. I'll need to get a silk screen starter kit to do any more as my conji got roached. Needed more solution on it to begin with- by the last 3 shirts, there were some major leakages around it and there was no fixing it. I expect I may very well go through it all. It's complicated, but not impossible. It costs about 50-70 bucks to get a starter kit, but then you have some solid supplies that will last a while. I have to say: it's kind of hell on the body to do the work. You need a lot of clean and easy to clean surfaces and ideally at least 2 other folk to help do the prep/post stuff.
At the very least, mom, dad, and I had fun collaborating. I don't think we'd done anything quite like it together. Certainly nothing that had tangible results.
I cleaned up just in time to head to the West Side for dinner with Lou and Dale (at Max's Deli) then to Apex to hear Dale sing ballads. Lou and I had lots of happy bonding time and w/ luck, they'll visit soon.
*yawn* Bed time!
