To echo many: that was a fantastic storm last night. I watched the Wex kids last night, so was out on my motorcycle at 10:30 when it was just flickery and not acting like it would do anything, however being out thusly felt overly exposed, so I didn't wander home so much as booked home. I was still very awake when it hit Lexington. At least raucous thunder and lighting is a very good reason to be kept up. Better than generic insomnia or whatever. So, yeah, a little sleepy today. Oh, and the mud slicks in front of our house (we live at the bottom of a wee hill) were very telling with exactly how fast it was coming down.

Not entirely unrelated to the rain/last night, I've discovered yet again the power of scent. The smell of anis is reminiscent of corruption, medicine... or easter baskets.

I was just drifting off when the big boom hit Salem. Got up and made sure the windows near the computers were all shut.

I didn't have any trouble getting back to sleep after that and didn't really notice if there was any more activity in the sky.

I didn't have too many problems with the thunderstorm, but the sound of the rain hitting the giant skylight in the middle of my space was fantastic. I put my papasan underneath it and watched the lightning from underneath :)
