Have you ever felt like the electrons in your body are vibrating around in crazy chaotic patterns to the point you think they must be trying to form a mosh pit in your very bones? That's what mine are doing. I want them to be tranquil and move in more harmonious patterns. Brought to you by the letters "C" (for caffine) and the number pi. Me like pi(e).

Yes. Right now, in fact. And over-sugared, to boot.

Water. Lots of it. Now.

And prepare to pee. A lot.

Not kidding. Go. Do.

I had that last night but it was from having overscheduled my day. Breathe, walk, meditate, and do what the other have suggested. Remember, this too shall pass.

Yep, that happened to me fairly recently when I discovered that A) there is a Friendly's a short bicycle ride from my house, B) Their coffee doesn't suck, and C) It's not only bottomless but they also leave a carafe at the table so I don't have to bug the waitstaff. Mmmm, pi.

Better Now?

Caffeine, among other things, is a diuretic. It flushes water from your system, which means that when you're overcaffeinated, many muscles and other organs are going to be doing without.

Ironically, when you're withdrawing from caffeine (as it is an addictive xanthine), one of the withdrawl symptoms is water retention, and the only way to convince your body to flush it is to drink more water.

If you don't flush your system when you note that you've consumed way more caffeine than your current tolerance can deal with, you will likely suffer from some fairly nasty headaches, at the very least. This aggravates both sleeplessness and that withdrawl sleepiness.

I love caffeine, but I appreciate what it can do.
