caulay and I had fun at MM, and before that a quick tour of the Garment District and before that an unremarkable meal at Jasmine. (Rhetorical): Why is it that thai food always leaves me feeling, if possible, more hungry than when I started? Next time I'll check out Emma's.
I'm in way earlier and am more alert than I ought be. The slaves, er, interns will be here in less than 10 min., so it's really for the best.

I took Elayna to see MirrorMask yesterday.

I took the child who tells me every day that she worries about my health to a movie where the mother collapses, seizurelike, in the first ten minutes, and spends the rest of the movie in the hospital....

*wince*

I really have to pre-watch movies.

She seems fine, though.

oops? Well, that could be a very good catalyst to let her talk about her concerns if she feels like it needs talking about. It's not fun to be scared, but it happens and continuing to remember how to talk to one's mother about difficult things and feel safe about doing so.

*nods* She's gotten better about talking about her concerns. Used to be she'd just get a Look and hesitantly say "[Kid in my class] weighs more than you, Mommy."

I sat her down. "What, specifically, are you concerned about?"

"Well - what happens if you keep losing weight? Can you get sicker from losing too much weight? Can you die?"

Ach. Poor kidlet.

So I went through all the steps with her... doctors are watching me - if necessary, I'll go on IV fluids, which will chunk me up - there is absolutely no chance that I will die of weight loss - et cetera.

Which reminds me that I need to call my primary care doc today.

These medications are so stupid.
