Shoooooooes!!
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
My poor friends and family have heard me bitching about my lack of useful shoes over the past few weeks. Well, yesterday I realized allofasudden that I have a professional gig to attend in the evening and the only shoes I'm willing to wear all day are sneakers at this point. Both sets of my Oxfords (including the most bodacious "Frankensteins") have become a burden not a joy. The Payless slip-ons are more slip-offs. This leaves a set of fashion motorcycle boots or china flats. No go when I'm a representing alum and the youngest to boot (hah, boot!) Therefore, I feel it is my obligation to not look like one of the students, but a hip young professional who is worthy of emulation by the yet ungraduated masses. To quote Stewie Griffin: "You will bow to me!!"
So, I was a clever bunny and remembered there's a shoe store in downtown Lexington that always has the best displays. Went in and bought the first pair I tried on after only one size adjustment. I love them. I want 2 more pair, one in black and one in brown.

They are the quintessential old fashioned (and good) shoe store. I think you will find something of use and value there. Pretty much everything was between 50-100 bucks. The web site lists the brands they have. Not only do they have good stuff, but they're a locally owned and operated store that is just the sort of place we wanna keep around.

Hmmm. No Easy Spirit (my first choice) but they do have Naturalizer and Rockport. Thanks, I'll give them a try....

Cool; looks like Jerry Michelson went into the family business. He was in my class in school.

-I got the last bits of my Halloween costume in the mail yesterday, which included a pair of dark brown Oxfords, with nearly square toes. My first reaction was, "Either my feet have grown, or size 13 has shrunk," but after wearing them for a while they fit okay. Not sure I love the square-toed look, but they'll do.

(Chosen in part because Bey's costume is a cavegirl.)

although your stompy boots make great rainwear. Rubber, and the fact that there's a platform/heel make me rise above puddles.
I'm desperate
all is well
