Me and mine are not blowed up. We don't even use gas as a primary utility. go boom. What a damned shame- not only to cause a family to be homeless, but that's a pretty house!

Do you know where in town that happened?

This link (http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/5287240/detail.html) says "3 Hancock Avenue", which is here (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab=home&address=3+hancock+avenue&city=lexington&state=MA&zipcode=).

The Channel 5 article quotes someone mentioning that it's only 100 yards from the fire station... which it is, but it's more like half a mile by road (the fire station is on Camellia Place, which is separated from Hancock Ave by the bike path). It was the second house down from the corner, not the one on the corner as shown on the map.

My parents' house is on the next side street to the north. They didn't get evacuated, fortunately, because they don't have gas service.

A block from the house I grew up in, as noted here.

Hadn't heard about that, but I'm glad you're all safe. [considers running downstairs to check the gas lines]

It's a damn shame that house blew up, but I'm glad it wasn't your place.

I did check the address when I saw the news break, but I was pretty sure it was not you guys. Thank goodness!

Yowza.

Not you, that's good.

Hopefully not my boss or his neighbors, either!

Stunning hole in the ground, there.

Any word if the gas companies are going to build them new houses now? Or should I just *snicker* now ...

Glad you're okay. Heard about that this morning, and had a serious case of WTF on the way in.

Ugh - glad you're all ok.

And that I still have crash space at New Year's. :-)

Every time I read a story like this, I cringe at the idea that some folks in Mosaic are determined to have gas appliances.
