The Channel 5 article quotes someone mentioning that it's only 100 yards from the fire station... which it is, but it's more like half a mile by road (the fire station is on Camellia Place, which is separated from Hancock Ave by the bike path). It was the second house down from the corner, not the one on the corner as shown on the map.

My parents' house is on the next side street to the north. They didn't get evacuated, fortunately, because they don't have gas service.

Every time I read a story like this, I cringe at the idea that some folks in Mosaic are determined to have gas appliances.
