When I was growing up, I always looked forward to my Canadian cousin's visits. JG is 2 months older than I am and tended to visit in the summers with his mom/my mom's older sister. Invariably, he'd end up teasing the bejesus out of me, but he was still my "favorite cousin." He still lives on the west coast with his wife, whom I've not yet met, sadly. They live out in the woods and I assume he's doing pottery (which is bloody fantastic) and possibly still making drums. It'd be really cool to have him around for a while. But this is me not holding my breath.

Stuff I've done of late-
washed my motorcycle and its cover. We have tent worms populating our one big tree in the back yard, so half a tree's worth of leaves have been on that cover. Nas-ty. At least I have a cover. M. doesn't at the moment and I know there's black paint under the green goo. Then it rained again. Figures!

A week+ ago I went to NEDCC in Andover (before it was flooded) and re-learned how to repair endpapers and spines on books. This was something covered in my book repair class at Simmons, but I never did use said skills since said class. Now I have a small pile of books to fix and an almost infinite supply at hand. I'm not so good that I know how to repair leather-bound books, just cloth. Pity, given how many leather books we *do* have. However, the temptation to replace a lot of the ones with red rot would be huge and sisyphusian. I did finish the grant proposal for the preservation survey. That was a little piece of red-tape hell, let me tell you. But a Learning Experience and fulfills one of those professional development things that's on my annual review. Go, me. (Go where?)

I've finished 3rd season Buffy and moved on to the college years. Why not? I'll shift my angst intake to Veronica Mars closer to when Season 2 will come out on disk so I can jump from 1 to 2 quickly and be all ready to go for 3!!! (Addict. Yeah. So sue me. Or not. You'd be sorely disappointed w/ the results. And my boyfriends would beat you up)

M. and I escaped the house briefly this evening to have dessert at Marino's. We both were in the mood for donuts, but only *good* donuts and determined none would be available at this time on a Sunday, dammit. You'd have thought that going to a place as nice as Marino's for dessert instead would have been a win, but... sadly not as much for the dessert part. Conversation and all: fantastic! But the ricotta pie was gritty and the chocolate mousse cake overly sugared. I'm spoiled by fantastic cooks (currently killing things on their screens). At least the server agreed that the pie *is* gritty. Hah! I'll stick to tiramisu from here on out. At least my heart stopped palpitating. fyi: LJ spell check is confused by tiramisu. Dummy.
Back to the world that is Buffy about to be crushed by the evil Parker.
