A turn of phrase worth sharing

When talking to a friend about careers and career change, I turned my thoughts to the idea of me leaving my cozy berth and came up with this analogy...

The idea of leaving my job here is like asking the 12 year old to contemplate leaving home and live on one's own. I grab on to Mom's leg like a limpit and warble "no-no-no-no-no!!!" Guess it's not time for me. This will change someday, I am sure and it will be a natural progression or something. Hopefully Mom will be OK with me leaving when I'm ready.
