In the spring I jumped through all the hoops for an NEA preservation grant. I'd never done that sort of research before- it's always complicated and tedious, don'tchaknow. But! The letter got in today and we got it! My first grant EVAR. It's slated for a general survey of the collection that will be used as a stepping stone for getting other more specific preservation grants. Being able to say one has acquired a grant from your doing is a hyuuuuuge deal for resume health and whatnot and I had been feeling its lack for some years on the principle of "one should." One has. One rocks.
