I'm almost done with prep for Luna Con art show. I was ambivalent about Boskone and I'm downright apathetic about Luna. I've not done a single new clay project since pre-Arisia. Well, we'll see. Thanks to [personal profile] ahf and [personal profile] caulay for agreeing to be agents again.

My co-worker, Robin's dad is currently in the hosital- stabilized and sedated after a heart attack Friday. She's up there for the rest of the week, as far as we know. We'd had plans involving photo shoots of spats, corsets, and boots with [personal profile] evila on Saturday and a sesion of our Firefly game on Sunday before this turn of events. Both activities didn't happen. The photo shoot particularly seemed so very frivolous. The game would have lacked too many players.

Lethargy seems to be the ruling feeling and has been since I woke up yesterday. Having to attend a board meeting for work from 4:30-7 tonight is not helping my enthusiasm. Ditto concern for R's dad. But, things to look forward to this coming week: book group discussing Northanger Abbey, rollerskating, work luncheon at one of the restaurant week participants, lunch with [personal profile] caulay, date with [profile] quiet_elegance and socializing with HOVIR folks.

The next book group selection is Pride & Prejudice, which I already know pretty well, but plan to re-read. I'm not in a hurry, though. In the meantime, I picked up Will the Vampire People Please Leave the Lobby? It's about a woman's experience joining up with the Buffy subculture. The author, Allyson Beatrice, has had a more difficult time socially than I have in her young adult life than I have. She's still stuck on how some people think it's weird to like shows like Buffy, to go to conventions that celebrate that sort of pop culture, or be able to talk about the nuances of those stories with co-workers. My dear Robin has been my coworker for over 5 years now. She introduced me to 2/3 of my new favorite shows- and has been here for my development as a Whedonite/Browncoat. Even if I wasn't lucky enough to have her, I'd still not feel shame for my fannishness. Shrug.

- I'm still at work. I do not know how much longer it'll be.
+ I don't have to wait for my part of the board meeting in the main room. I can wait in my office and goof on teh interwebs.
? Perhaps if I attempt actual work, they'll call me faster and then I can go home.

Thank you for flying Church of England. Cake or death?
...
"Well, we're out of cake! We only had three bits and we didn't expect such a rush! So what do you want?"
"What, so my choice is 'or death?' Well, then I'll have the chicken, please."
