I finally started reading my cousin, Maureen's travel blog. She quit her job and went off into the wilds of the Eastern Hemisphere for 4 months. She writes well and I expect to catch up on her adventures tomorrow. Mo is from my dad's side of the family and only 10 days younger than I am.
The other connection I had today was a bit more direct. Jean Guy (Mom's side, 2 months older) pinged me on Facebook. We'd just been talking about him yesterday and this may well qualify as the very first time he's contacted me without prolonged instigation on my part. JG's in Victoria and his visits when we were kids were always highly anticipated and inevitably included tears from me, as I was even then an easy target for teasing. I know, shock of the year to get that intel. I dearly hope to reconnect with both of my nearest cousins. I have a very large set of them, but the ones young enough to be my kids- I don't hold out much hope to ever connecting with them. At least with these two we actually have shared history.
