Followup on my latest project with pictures! [art]

I'm really happy with my first evening of playing with new designs. The one in the icon I just made is the first of the hearts. I also did an altoid tin, at long last. I'm OK with it for a first attempt, but now that I have one done, I can't wait to do another so I can make a better design, both patterns and colors. Finally, a use for a garlic press :) The full gallery

Ooh, very productive!
I like the hearts and the colors on the filigree. I haven't tried the coiling yet--did you like it, was it frustrating? Was it easy to get good gradations?

Coiling was OK. I put the thin sheet of clay (silver) down first so it has something to stick to. However, you'd better be sure you want the pattern you start because once it's down, that's it.
Tonight, unless I'm pleasantly distracted by boys, I will do another with a more purposeful design.

Have you thought of making a mold like the project showed in order to make it easier to make a series?
It could be a variant on the theme that love comes in many colors and patterns, maybe a heart with a raised infinity symbol on it--a subtle poly symbol. You could sell them at the Flea or similar venues.

Brilliant! Yes, I'll probably do a mold at some point, although I'm more interested in taking the X-section motif and apply it to other shapes and also do sheets for covering tins. :)
So, *when* are we getting together to do more of the same?
