Bidding wars over empty Altoids tins on eBay. Um.... stupid!
I am looking into less popular auctions. However if anyone out there in LJ Land has the spare mint tin or two, I'm happy to take it off your hands. The kinds with smooth surfaces, like the original Altoids, are best for clay adhesion.

Little metal press-on-lid type tins are sold by the box, and fairly cheap. Are you not able to find them?

I'm keen on the Altoids tin shape particularly, as I like the attached lid. I'm planning on scouting craft stores for press on lid tins (tonight's AC Moore's "midnight madness" sale), but if I can get the former, so much the better.

aw, foo. I had a whole bunch (like, 30 of them) that I gave to another polymer clay friend a few months ago. I'll contact my source for those and see if he has more!

I have a few empty penguin mints tins (similar size & shape to altoids tins) that you can have.

Bleah. No kidding, I sometimes think the bid wars on stuff like that are crazy. Sometimes you just have to wait till the right auction comes along, one that no one else wants for some reason (like...bids for 10-25 tins have lots of bids, but 50+ tins...not so many).
But ya know...I do still have 35 tins that I haven't put clay on. You could always have a few of those till you get more of your own. I've only actually used two so far, though I think I may use quite a few before I'm done. Heh..."done." Right.

Have you thought of asking FreeCycle or some list like that?

I've got a couple/three (thuogh I think they all have mints in them still - perhaps you can come up with something crafty to do with teh mints, too?); the only problem is I never see you. :)

I hear people sometimes consume nutrients when the Day Star is at its zenith. We could convene a meeting of the minds and fill the bellies at some time for the express purpose of disposing of previously mentioned tins from your possession to mine, although we need not wait until that occasion.
