I had to do one more post because I wanted to use that subject line.
If I was to ever move to the mid-west, I think I'd move here. My guides/hosts have been very good at pointing out all the awesome of Milwaukee. It's also sort of a pretty city, IMO. Lots of classical architecture, lots to do and see. Also: next to the lake (Michigan for those not familiar with this bit's geography) and growing up next to Erie, I have a strong love of big swaths of (mostly) fresh water. I suspect Michigan's less gross than Erie, too.
But I'm not moving to Milwaukee, nope. I live in Boston. That's where my family is- and there's so many of you! But if my life totally went upside down and did a little jiggery sideways maneuver, I'd really consider this place.
In yet other random news, I'm having a one line conversation with my best friend back in Ohio that's been going on for over a week or two. She's always been beyond horrid about keeping up with correspondence and phone calls- chatty once on the phone and moreso in person, but not proactive as such. This one line at a time conversation seems to be working, though, and that makes me happy. Would that it had started in its own subject line, but it tagged on to another and I've not had the heart to give it its own space.
Right. Time to zip up the suitcase and wait for the call for the next thing, which is immanent.

Did you know it was actually Flavor-Aid? Ever since I learned that, I can't use that phrase anymore!

Yeah, Jonestown. Sorry, just being a wise-ass.

Electric type of what? Execution? I've forgotten what your original post was about. Don't bother reminding me, though!

And the housing prices are mad-cheap! Milwaukee is a city that "you don't really mind" And about as much "east coast feel" without that attitude. When i went back and saw the house I'd lived in up for sale, I got this mad homesick feeling, and called to inquire on the price...

In general, yes. From Milwaukee to Chicago, um, no.

I suppose Milwaukee is really not that bad a place, but to me it's always been the personification of pollution: bad air, bad water, dark greasy streets and buildings covered in soot. Chicago seemed light and airy and clean in comparison.

Very true, and that is when I was when I experienced the place. Though my first contact with Cleveland was around the same period of time and that didn't seem as bad....
