So You Think You Can Dance: 2007 Tour

Before we left to pick up Robin and have dinner, I did 8 miles on the rollerblades. Again. I had done 8 miles the day before, too. Time for a break.
Dinner at Le's (formerly Pho Pasteur). Everyone was quite happy with the food. quiet_elegance hadn't been there before and was pleased at the prospect of there being another in Harvard Sq.
I'd been ragged on a bit for the earlier timeframe, but when there was already a line to get in and it grew exponentially before the doors opened, there was less ribbing.

The arena is usually used as an ice rink. The stage was on the narrow far end. Our seats were about as far away as you could get from the stage, and only about 5-6 rows from the top, but we could see very well and getting out was a breeze. It definitely wasn't as *loud* as it was at The Wang last year, but the aoustics were entirely different. Ice rinks are better equipped to deal with screams :) Still, our group was glad for ear plugs. I was sad that they weren't offering DVDs of past seasons. Back to piracy, I guess.
The show itself had a lot of the expected numbers. They also featured several routines with the alternates (Anya, Jesus, Hok, and Shauna). It did mean that Pasha and Anya could finally dance together. They never did get to during the competition, so for the Jive routine that was originally done in the first week with Anya and Danny was done with Pasha instead. Very very nice. Her outfit was... woah. Mesmerizing. Thanks to the alts being there, Hok and Jaimie got to do the hummingbird and flower routine.
We also got the transformers hip-hop (Lauren/Pasha), board room showdown (Sabra/Neil), 2 princes (Neil/Danny), Triplets of Belleville (Jesus/Sara), Knock on wood disco (Sara/Neil), cry-your-eyes-out-my-dad's-dead contemporary (Lacey/Neil), Less cry more sexy still angsty contemporary (Kameron/Lacey) , Matrixy group routine- but Lauren not central- the transformers bit was directly after, you see... Quickstep with glittering pinstripe outfits (Pasha/Sabra), dead-sexy hiphop (Dominic/Sabra), Pasa doble (Neil/Sabra), Benji's west coast swing (Sara/Neil), Dimitri's Samba (Danny/Lacey). We also got all 3 breakers: Sara, Hok, Dom doing a routine together for the first time, which was unbelieveable.
Sabra, our winner this year, definitely got a workout. It was a fantastic show. The show itself had a lot of the expected numbers.
