Thoughts while sitting in a waiting room

So, I'm sitting in a waiting room in the Beth Isreal complex waiting for Aries to get done with his doctor's appt. It's in the infectious disease dept. I'm not normally in a waiting room. If I am it's usually because there's something wrong with me. Now that it's not me, I think I'm even twitchier than not. Being surrounded by people who may or may not have an infectious disease severe enough to warrant being in the hospital twitches me out.  It's also quite a crowded waiting room. Lots of chatter adds to my fractured attention. The HVAC system is at a frequency that just really penetrates my brain.
But they have wireless. And I have some Buffy that I can watch, which is good given I could barely read LJ. I don't stand a chance at absorbing any of the Elizabeth Bear I'm reading.

you are very welcome. It wasn't so bad once I plugged in and watched some Buffy. I could focus on that and block out the rest to the point I was surprised to see Aries come back already :)

I spent most of last tuesday at Beth Israel and the wireless saved my sanity. I am at least as twitchy on behalf of others as I am for myself. I wouldn't let the one I was accompanying out of my sight because I generally assume that doctors will be mean and unhelpful. However, I have to say that BID was wonderful and treated both me and my ailing companion wonderfully.
