Gr! Not sure I'm ready to come home. I'm having a good time. I guess that's a good time to come home. I'll be returning in May for Mom's 60th birthday bash on Memorial Day Weekend.
A bit of meta... I'm now referring to this place where I am as "my Mother's house" not my house. I guess I've been doing that for a while, but it feels very specific/sharp this time.

Today's things done, people seen, etc:
Went to get fingers and toes prettified.
Dale came to visit (super big yay!)
I found the AWOL knitting needle (almost bought a new set because the 4th double point was just nowhere to be found)
Amy still failed to show
Dr. Barb stopped by for dinner
Went to Mom's art friend's house out in bufu, but HOLY SHIT, this house is cool. It's very Black Forest style, and huge and OMG, I want to steal the house. Amy's dad, a carpenter, did the coffered ceilings in their.. um, media/sitting room.
I drank a lot of Bailey's and learned pool shark techniques. A few of  Mom's friends from way back were there- most of those were people who knew who I was, but I had no clue. Also very entertaining to be the mini-me of my mom, pretty much. Our host was entirely confused. I walked down to the guy-hang out basement/bar/sports lounge/pool hall (OMG) where the host was holding court. Mom hadn't come down with us quite yet, so his first reaction was to look at me with some notion that something wasn't quite right here and the first thing out of his mouth was "You cut your hair." Then mom came around the corner and 'esplained, no, you just met my kid.
Another person who was in the basement for a while watching me play pool went up to the kitchen where Mom was and asked if that was her sister downstairs. Ego boost for Ma. :)
Came back and finished adding stuff to the mini iPod I'm giving Bob Wright The-Mostly-Homeless-Guy*. Must get plug-into-wall charger for him, too. The 'pod was one that Mom and Dad had outgrown and were keen on passing on to Bob when I suggested. I filled it up with '60s rock. And some old school R&B.
Photographic evidence of the past few days here.
Also glad to have a few days to recover from the trip before returning to work. I've spent most of the day tired.  But before sleep: pack.

*He got a spot in an assisted living facility, but it apparently is way low-rent/bottom of the barrel. They closed the kitchen on Thanksgiving, for example. Also no consideration for diabetic food needs. But it's not the street or a flop house.
