Surprise! You have a new work computer!
So, I have a new work computer. Great, right? Well... sort of. Yay- faster, quieter, more space. It also takes up 2x the space on my desk... bummer, but I'll get used to it, but now I have to clean up my desk so it doesn't look so crowded.
I had NO idea this was going to happen while I was away. I had no time to prepare. They didn't bother to give me Firefox, but they xferred everything into IE, so at least *something* was there, but I suspect I lost a few bookmarks that were just in Firefox. I had just recently had to rip out Firefox and so at least IE was close.
The thing I'm not loving: new Outlook version. Everything from my old folders seems to be here and fine, BUT I loathe how large the menu screens are. So, I've been fiddling trying to fix this in settings, but no love yet.
I at least managed to keep XP on for a platform. If I was dealing with Vista now, there'd have already been an earth-shattering KaBoom from the vicinity of my HEAD.
So much for what I wanted to do today. I think it'll all be re-asserting my style and preference over this machine.
