zomg, it's totally real. I have no idea how they got it to dye like that. I bought a kit at the craft store this evening so I can dry it and hopefully keep some of the vibrant color.
I was so fascinated, I looked it up. Apparently they inject dye into 4 different spots, while the rose is still growing. The colors then spread out and blend as it matures. I'd love the know the name of the florist where this amazing flower was purchased.
I know!! I even found one of those plastic, pointy flower water resveoir thingies you get from florists (usually on single roses?) - I have a stash of them because you never know when you might need one. Anyway, I need to make sure this flower doesn't die mid-weekend, but I'm not going directly home after work. See? See?? Smart! (And modest) Must preserve the weirdness of this beauty
If you look to the top of the thread, you'll see it's already been done- and with only buying 5 bars of clay, thus *only* doubling the cost of the trip, which seems within reason? If I spend less than 30 dollars, I tend to consider it a successful venture. Ahem.
Err...that is, I know it's real. I mean it looks like the images of any given Photoshop program art, which usually involves a rainbow in something like the iris of an eye.
Real or Silk?

Methinks a trip to Michael's might be in order. Try not to look at all the other pretty crafty Shiney.
