Name a Case Meme

As was demonstrated in an interview with Katie Couric, Sarah Palin is unable to name any Supreme Court Case other than Roe v. Wade.
The Rules: Post info about ONE Supreme Court decision, modern or historic, to your lj. (Any decision, as long as it's not Roe v. Wade.) For those who see this on your f-list, take the meme to your OWN lj to spread the fun.
Oooh! Monkeys!!
Scopes v State [TN] 1925
John Scopes had the temerity to teach a class on evolution and the state of Tennessee with the weight of the Butler Act said that wasn't kosher to teach anything but Divine Creation. The state won the day, unfortunately, until it was overturned by a technicality.
Related: Epperson v Arkansas 1968- invalidated statute that prohibited teaching evolution in public schools. This one I didn't remember until I looked up Scopes' details.
ETA- Damn! A lawyer/professor friend of mine has informed me Scopes was just a trial. So, I sort of fail, but it was a pivotal trial nonetheless.

Lawrence vs. Texas made anti-sodomy laws unconstitutional!
Griswold vs. Connecticut made anti birth control laws unconstitutional!
I know about most of the laws that let me have sex!
(Bowers vs. Hardwick had something to do with Sodomy as well, but I forget what...)

That's a cool idea though... I haven't gone back and read the original text of the Constitution in a while... A good thing to do.
