I've given money to the Seamstress for the corset (image represntative of style, not colors). She's found an even better color match than what was offered as the default on her site that I had chosen. I should have it all for sure by Arisia at this rate. Given how many she produces and she delivers by Priority, so... yay!  Any leads on where I can acquire a puss in boots style cavalier-ish hat is welcome. (Not that there's a guarantee it'd look right on me, but a girl has to look). I will certainly be on the look out at the con itself.

Regarding Arisia prep- The lizard brain that controls my crafting urges has informed me I do not need to produce more*. Thank the gods. Thanks be, also, that I can do online art check in this year. My goal is to have it done by Sunday night. Crafty supplies are being stowed this evening. The chaos was getting unbearable. The last big hurdle is getting [livejournal.com profile] quiet_elegance  to help me secure the ornament tops so there aren't more catastrophic failures, and create a display.

* Supposedly I should be able to control the lizard brain, but attempts to do so usually ends up with me being unable to sleep from all the potential plans bumping about. There's also usually some crankiness that results when thwarted. I know- surprise-surprise.

I assume you're looking for more than a standard costume piece in the hat. Costume pieces are easy to find online. Real hats less so.

Congrats on things finally falling into place for the corsest!
Also, the stars are aligned--I just got off the phone with *my* seamstress and the coat is finished and en route from Seattle as we speak.

If we can swing it, you and I should totally do a circuit of the atrium together at some point. "A steam chick and a pirate lass walk into a bar......"

hats?

I don't know about cavalier-style, but I saw some pretty fabulous hats at Galvin-ized Headwear. I encouraged the milliner to show at Arisia, though I don't know if she will take my advice. The studio is a quick walk from the Back Bay T.
