Temptation/Travel

So, it was pointed out to me that JetBlue is having a one day sale.  One of the deals is to Oakland, which is close enough to get me to the fabled San Francisco.  I've never been to California. I've been thinking that this is a problem that needs correction for a while. Now I'm waiting to hear back from purple_terror  to see if he wants to go, too. I think I will go either way. There's vacation to burn and 120/flight sounds as good as it gets these days.

If Bay Area friends want to weigh in on what part of the warm months (I'm likely going in August) I should shoot for or avoid, let me know. Specifically if I want to see them. If I do go, I think I need a party.

ETA: Never mind at least for now. I can't travel within their window of opportunity, so instead of 120/direction it was 219. That's, of course, before taxes, and is no longer a deal. Maybe another time. Hmph!

FYI, summer in SF is not very warm. If you are expecting sunshine rather than fog, do not come in August. However, places near SF (like Berkeley, Oakland, Peninsula) are all warmer than SF in summer.

L is gone the first week in August, which means I'll be more intensely buried in babies (toddlers?) then. The rest of the month is wide open. It'll be great to meet you!

crap. I hadn't gotten that far. I have no idea. :/ So... perhaps moot point. I can't go that quickly. Thanks for the reality check. I have no idea how often they do these.

It says so very tiny under the fare sale image. I had to squint. But you can search for the dates you think you'd want to go to see what their regular fare is. I have to go to SF in July, and their fares were about $250. Not direct though. Oh well.

Yep- and that's no longer the tempting deal. Especially with a not-cheap visit to see family at the beginning of next month, and we still have a balance on the Mexico trip cr. card. But a nice theory that distracted me in a nice way all morning.

Better to deal with the reality than get everything figured out and then find out it's not the deal I was comfortable with. So, thanks. It did successfully kill the entire morning for me. I'm not sure that's a good thing.
