Dental surprise
Cut for those who can't even hear about the most pedestrian of dental experiences:
So, went in for a routine exam. They never called, so I went in (20 min. early) to discover yes, I did and they had a very old number for me from West Roxbury era of phones. Hah. Also, my dentist wasn't in. Ok, whatever- I'll take whomever. Whomever turned out to be pretty great. He determined visually that I had 2 cavities that nobody else had seen, despite regular visits for the past 2 years. There was gray under the tooth-colored filling, you see. That is a harbringer of (eventual) root canal. He had the time, so he ended up doing a total of 4 fillings. He's my new dentist. I would much rather spend 300 bucks today than 2500 next year, thankyouverymuch.
However. My jaw. It's tired. I'm tired.
ETA: I really recommend this guy- I still feel like I went through a minor skirmish in a war, but given his ability to ID troublesome areas and his attitude, I'm willing to be a bit uncomfortable if the results are good. If anyone wants a recommendation, I'll give one. He's at the Tremont St. Boston Gentle Dental.

(I guess you really did, even if it meant that you had 4 fillings. Like you said, better now than a root canal later.)

Turns out eggs and husband-made bread and scones (yeah, he did both) with tea is a fantastic bit of recovery food.
